LEXWOOFMOEW ONLY ACCEPTS CASH PAYMENTS

Hi There, I'm Elizabeth- owner and operator of lexwoofmeow. I have a learning disability, dyscalculia. My brain has difficulty understanding some math related concepts. For me, numbers represent abstract ideas and objects. Simply put, physically counting the money allows me to assign the numbers to an object. This allows me to operate my business.

In college, I was granted accommodations outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). These accommodations enabled me to graduate. While in college, I was chosen to intern in Washington, DC on the President's Committee on Employment for People with Disabilities (PCEPD) where I worked directly with businesses across the US to ensure employees received reasonable accommodations. I am granting myself the accommodation of only accepting cash payments, and I'm rewarding my clients for adhering to the accommodation by keeping my rates lower than my competitors. If clients choose to pay by check or PayPal, a 5% convenience fee will be added to the total amount due.

What Pet Owners Say

"Great pet sitter"

I feel so lucky to have found Elizabeth! I have 3 senior pets (an 18 yr old chihuahua and two cats- one is 13, the other is 17). They’re on various medications and eat a raw food diet. I jokingly say that they’re “high maintenance”, but Elizabeth wasn’t fazed at all by having to follow their daily rituals. She was eager to learn their routine and keep them healthy! She asked questions and took notes. I immediately knew she took their care very seriously. I’ve now hired her multiple times. My animals adore her! She is always so gentle with them and clearly loves her work. She is kind, professional, communicative, and as a bonus, sends pictures and videos of my furry family via text while I’m away. I know longer have to wonder if my animals are ok while I’m out of town…with Elizabeth, I KNOW they are.

"Special diets"

"Both of my dogs need special diets, which require mixing together multiple components to make a meal. They take medications, with different medications needed mornings and evenings. I trust Elizabeth completely to get this right because her attention to detail is impeccable."

"Punctuality"

“Elizabeth has always had excellent punctuality. She has never missed work without significant advanced notice. Elizabeth is extremely trustworthy, personable, and an excellent communicator,”

"Challenging dog"

"I have a very challenging dog. My rescue dog has trust issues and can be a handful. Elizabeth was able to come in and win him over! Together they took long walks, rides in the car and overnight home stays — they did it all!"

"Above and beyond"

Everything Elizabeth does is intentional and thoughtful-she is a true professional. We felt completely at ease with her in our home with our dog, which was such a gift. She is an excellent communicator, gave our pup lots of loving attention, and our house was spotless when we arrived home. I wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth and would hire her again!

"Aging pets"

"My family is thrilled to have someone so kind and caring to take care of our Zonky, Elly and MewMew. As they age, knowing they are in such capable hands allows us to have peace of mind when we travel."

Evan Elizabeth Armstrong, Certified Pet Care Specialist

About Me

My name is Elizabeth Armstrong and I am a Certified Pet Care Specialist. My goal is to understand all of your pet’s individual needs. Your pets will know they can trust me to love and protect them.

Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, I was entrusted with taking care of my family’s pets at age five. I moved to Chicago for college, where I worked for a dog walking company. After graduating from DePaul University, I moved back to Lexington and opened my own pet care business. In 2011, I relocated to Portland, Oregon to expand my business.

While in Portland, I was able to shadow a vet technician. I learned how to administer subcutaneous IV fluids. This experience gave me a general knowledge of the medical care that pets receive at their veterinarian’s office. I earned my Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid certification in 2013. I am dedicated to ongoing pet education through in person classes, webinars and seminars. In 2018,  i moved back to Lexington and became an active member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS). In 2022, I earned my NAPPS certification, through course work, as a Pet Care Specialist. This certification includes classes on bird studies, cat studies, dog studies, exotics, rabbits, Red Cross  First Aid and business studies. I returned back to Portland in March of 2023 and have never been happier!

I believe in giving back to the community. Throughout my career, I have pledged monthly and yearly donations to the ASPCA, the Woodford Humane Society and the Lexington Humane Society. I spearhead donation drives once a year to local pet shelters. I have been a Pixie Project volunteer since August of 2023. I look forward to my shift every week at the Cattery, their location in the Pearl.

I am vaccinated against Covid-19, flu and monkey pox and I remain up to date with these vaccinations.
